Sam's Seven
Vol 111: Wishlist jewelry items, kids pop up rocket ship, a dreamy getaway in Morocco + 4 more recommendations
I just welcomed a new baby, so while I typically write Sam’s Seven in advance, the next few weeks were prepped far in advance - apologies if items are sold out or links are incorrectly working. I try my best to review the content again before it’s sent out, but I’ll be taking some time to find our groove as a new family of 4. Thank you as always for being here and reading + supporting Sam’s Seven!
1. Sherman Field Jewelry
I’ve long fantasized about owning a Sherman Field piece - I’m obsessed with her lockets and chains, but some of the other items are just as swoon worthy. Having seen them at a trunk show, I can attest they’re even better in person (significant weight but not ~too~ heavy, the most beautiful stones, timeless and wearable). Everything is customizable and made to order and the founder, Danielle, is lovely. One day!
2. Rocket Play Tent
If you need a toddler gift, I can attest these tents are absolute hits. The best part is they fold down to a small size, so you can store them away and bring them back out again in a few weeks and it’s like a brand new toy all over again. My son has this exact one (if you’re local to SF, Tantrum carries them) and it’s been providing daily entertainment since Christmas. This little house one is super cute too.
3. Banana Republic Wide Leg Embroidered Pants
The only pants I’ve been wearing for most of pregnancy and now into postpartum have either been leggings or wide leg pants with an elastic waist. I quite like these green embroidered ones from BR. While the matching set is cute, I’d personally wear it with a cream sweater (long live SF summers where it’s always sweater weather!) or a white button down.
4. Villa Mabrouka
Dreaming of a visit to Villa Mabrouka, located in Tangier, Morocco. The former private home of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, it’s now an intimate 12-room hotel that looks absolutely beautiful.

5. Family Favorites Recipe Journal
This customizable recipe journal would make for a great gift. You can choose the cover photo and then compile all favorite recipes to store inside. Given my go-to’s are spread out between different cook books, ripped out pages of magazines/newspapers and various e-mails and texts, I’d love to have this keepsake to house everything in one place and be able to pass down.
6. I Regret Almost Everything
Let me preface by saying I’m a huge Keith McNally fan. His restaurants are so interwoven in my life and memories and to this day, are still some of my most favorite places in the world to go. From when I was a kid visiting NYC to living there throughout my 20’s and now as a visitor, Balthazar was and is a go-to and my parents live a few blocks away from Cafe Luxembourg, which is another go-to. I found his memoir, I Regret Almost Everything, to be absolutely fascinating. His deadpan sense of humor (and unflinching account of everything that’s gone wrong) coupled with all the people who have come and go in his life, made for a very entertaining read.
7. Schutz Naomi Slides
Digging these woven buckle slides from Schutz. More sizes available here.
Congrats on the new baby!!!
